Our approach to safeguarding

We work as part of the wider safeguarding network, alongside schools, families and local services. Everyone at Sendsory® has a duty to put the needs of children first in every decision and action

We recognise the additional vulnerabilities faced by children with SEND, SEMH and other complex needs. Our safeguarding framework reflects this and includes focus areas such as:

  • Online safety
  • Emotional and mental health support
  • Domestic abuse and exploitation risks
  • County lines and criminal exploitation
  • Homelessness and harmful influences
  • All staff receive safeguarding training and are confident in how to respond to concerns swiftly and effectively.

Our safeguarding priorities

  • Ensuring every team member can identify and act on safeguarding concerns
  • Encouraging open and timely communication across our service
  • Following clear procedures for child protection and safeguarding issues
  • Working collaboratively with families and partner agencies to secure the right support at the right time
  • We actively use approaches such as the Early Help Assessment (EHA) and Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) to strengthen joined-up support and ensure children and families never feel alone when challenges arise.
